Originally from the windy streets of Chicago, Cheryl Joan earned a BFA from Columbia College in 2007. Driven by the need for change and inspired by the upheaval it brings Cheryl uproots her life and moves to a new place every few years.
She finds inspiration in the ecology she is surrounded by as she transitions from urban to rural landscapes. This is prevalent in her art as the subject matter moves from organic forms to structural elements.
Currently located in Jackson, Wyoming, USA Cheryl's body of work expresses its duality into surreal scenes, documenting the ephemeral condition of her own memories.
