Life is full of opposing forces, both tangible and immaterial. Good vs. bad, gravity vs. space, the list goes on. Artist Michelle Brandemuehl uses this constant battle and the changes caused by the elements striving to gain dominance and influence, all in the same space as the crux of her work. With opposing materials and colours such as linen and spray paint Michelle translates these skirmishes into art.
Minimal yet insightful her work strikes up a conversation about people, places and things. Her current body of work explores the idea of landscapes in outer space, questioning our knowledge of both the seen and the possibilities of what lies in its vast abyss.
