Growing up in the eastern Canada's Maritime province, New Brunswick sure has its benefits. From its rugged yet breathtaking coastline to lush forests, artist Stéphane Richard certainly had a lot to keep himself busy, and inspired. This is reflected in his work which ranges from landscapes to seascapes in his early years as an artist. This later evolved into Pop art, abstract and cubist style works in his 20's. After taking a break in his 30's Stéphane has returned to where it all began, nature, using the picturesque Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia, Canada as a base.
Experimenting with media such as linocut prints, plaster and acrylic paints along with printmaking and chalk he aims to convey an organic feel among his pieces. He is currently working on a parallel series of motifs, either in paintings or prints and abstract paintings with paint applied using a wood block. Find out more about his work via the links below.
